Woody Olsen ’76 Featured in Beloit Art Center Juried Photography Exhibition March 24, 2026 Image Woody Olsen ’76 Work by Woody Olsen ’76 is currently on view in the 15th Annual Juried Photography Exhibition at the Beloit Art Center. Olsen’s digital photograph, Love All Serve All (2026), was selected for inclusion in the exhibition.This year’s exhibition features 134 photographs by amateur photographers from across the region. MCAD Board Member Kristine Anderson Discusses Midwestern Design in “Mansion Global” March 28, 2026 Image Kristine Anderson, a principal and partner at PKA Architecture and a member of the board of trustees at Minneapolis College of Art and Design, was recently featured in Mansion Global discussing how architecture in the Midwest is reshaping ideas of luxury living.In the interview, Anderson reflects on her path to Minneapolis and her long career in architecture, as well as the design philosophy that informs her work across the region and internationally. She describes Midwestern architecture as deeply rooted in place—shaped by climate, landscape, and natural materials.
Professor Olaf Kuhlke Co-Develops Climate Strategy and Innovation Tool March 16, 2026 Image Olaf Kuhlke, Professor and Creative Entrepreneurship Chair, recently led a hands-on workshop with EcoActUS Foundation Inc. where he introduced a new Climate Strategy and Innovation Tool he co-developed with Herman Gyr from the Enterprise Development Group in Palo Alto. This work was also assisted by students in Kuhlke's Innovation and Progress class at MCAD.
May Ling Kopecky Featured in “Practical Neurology” March 23, 2026 Image May Ling Kopecky ’22, MFA May Ling Kopecky ’22, MFA, Learning Center Coordinator, was recently featured in the January–February 2026 issue of Practical Neurology. One of her paintings appears on the cover of the issue, and her biography is included in the magazine’s About the Cover Artist page.Kopecky creates paintings and drawings that visualize her experience living with pediatric-onset multiple sclerosis. Her work responds to the skepticism often surrounding chronic illness and invisible disabilities, translating personal medical experience into vivid visual form.
Aaron Olson-Reiners Presents Solo Exhibition in Cartagena March 22, 2026 Image Aaron Olson-Reiners ’17, MFA Aaron Olson-Reiners ’17, MFA recently presented a solo exhibition of new ink drawings titled Rhythmic Echoes at the Alianza Colombo Francesa de Cartagena de Indias in Cartagena, Colombia.The exhibition featured a new body of intricate ink works exploring rhythm, movement, and expression through layered linework. Olson-Reiners has lived in Cartagena since 2022, where he has continued to develop his studio practice and exhibit internationally.This summer, Olson-Reiners plans to relocate to Santiago, Chile.

Tom Gormally Featured in "Knock on Wood" Exhibition in Seattle March 14, 2026 Image Tom Gormally ’77 Tom Gormally ’77 will present two sculptures in Knock on Wood, a group exhibition opening March 5 at the Center on Contemporary Art in Seattle’s Pioneer Square neighborhood.The exhibition features thirty-four artists from across the Pacific Northwest who work in wood. Knock on Wood explores the breadth of contemporary wood practices in a region long associated with both forest landscapes and strong craft traditions.
