Cityscape in Italy

In the birthplace of the Renaissance, Accademia di Belle Arti di Firenze provides an unparalleled opportunity to encounter art as an immersive experience.

If you're looking for an abundance of art, history, and an exceptionally charming culture, Florence is the place for you. Walk the same streets—and school hallways—as Michelangelo, Da Vinci, and Dante and just try not to be inspired.

The Florence program is unique among our study abroad opportunities - it is structured as an independent study program with only one class taken at Accademia. Students are expected to complete an independent studio project related to Italian culture during their time abroad. The project must be approved by the student's department chair prior to departure.

“I decided to go abroad to enhance my education and resume. I also had never traveled outside the U.S. I thought this would be the perfect opportunity for that. Florence is an amazing place. The city's full of interesting people of all walks of life. You can learn as much about yourself as you can about the people who lived there 400 years ago.” –Sharon Murphree ‘18
