MCAD Lawn, Fall

Student and MCAD personnel safety comes first. Our Campus Safety Department is staffed 24/7, all campus building doors are locked and open for Campus ID Badges only, all guests must check-in with Campus Safety to receive a Visitor badge, and we have a notification system in place via text and email for any emergencies. The MCAD Parking Lot has a gate arm, and is steps from the entrance to our main building. For prospective student events, we have extra personnel working on those days to monitor all doors and access to any of the buildings. All invited guests are escorted at all times and must RSVP. Please see below for additional information about MCAD Campus Safety.

Updated January 29, 2026.

On-call and present twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week, MCAD Campus Safety works across campus to ensure that students, faculty, staff, and visitors are respected, supported, and safe. The team is composed of the Director, Supervisor, Coordinator, Campus Safety Officers and 27 student workers. By building healthy, trusting relationships within the MCAD community, the Campus Safety team:

  • Supports academic freedom.
  • Centers the experience of marginalized communities.
  • Protects civil and human rights.
  • Provides a safe environment to foster the open exchange of ideas.
  • Serves students of all backgrounds in their educational journey.

“The Campus Safety team are caretakers of our community. We are committed to creating a safe and welcoming environment for all students, staff, faculty, and guests. We are ready to respond to calls for assistance and emergencies with both care and urgency.”

Pamela J. Hoffmann, Director of Campus Safety
