Financial Aid

If you are committed to studying art and design, MCAD is committed to helping your dreams become reality. It may cost a lot less than you think.

  • 97% of MCAD students receive financial aid.
  • $11M in aid is awarded to MCAD students annually.
  • MCAD tuition is below the national art college average.

There are a number of financial aid opportunities—including scholarships, grants, loans, Graduate Assistantships, Tuition Reimbursement, and work-study—available to you as an MCAD student. Plus, Minneapolis is far cheaper to live in than other major cities. Compared to Minneapolis, Los Angeles is 62% more expensive, Seattle is 61% more expensive, NYC is 75% more expensive, and San Francisco is 152% more expensive, according to Sperling's cost of living comparison tool.

Aid eligibility can vary based on your chosen program.

An MCAD representative can discuss your unique circumstances and how to best invest in your future. Contact the Financial Aid office at financial_aid@mcad.edu.

Undergraduate Students can estimate how much they will pay with the Net-Price Tuition Calendar for first-year or transfer students.
