Living Threads by Hend Al-Mansour ’02, MFA uses screen printing to highlight the story of Palestinian American poet and Deaf Educator, Yara Omer. Al-Mansour combines Islamic design motifs, American Sign Language ASL, and traditional Palestinian dress to highlight the intersectionality of her Palestinian American identity.

An early draft of the work was on view at the Minneapolis Institute of Art as in her Mihrabs: Portraits of Arab American Women exhibition as part of the Minnesota Artists Exhibition Program. The exhibition is on view until August 30 at the Rosalux Gallery.
