Several MCADians Featured in Books Added to MN Ebook Library

A number of MCAD Alumni and Faculty had their work features in two books recently added to Minnesota’s EBook Collection. Latina and Latinx MN: Re/Claiming Space in Times of Change serves as a catalog of the exhibit, curated by William G. “Billy” Franklin, and featuring the work of Ivonne Yáñez, Mikha “Mikahamik “Dominguez ’25, as well as directly naming Alondra Marisol Garza ’21 for her founding of Semillas in their brief history of Latina/Latinx MN American Art section.

Latin Art in Minnesota - Conversations and What’s Next, authored by William G. “Billy” Franklin, features interviews with Ta-coumba T. Aiken ’74, Nancy Ariza, and artwork from Alondra Marisol Garzala ’21. Both books highlight the thriving Latin art scene in Minnesota, as well as its expansive history in our local communities.
