Gaughan and Kismet Featured on MPR for Innovative Laugh and Draw Event

Faculty member Michael Gaughan ’02 and comedian Alicia Kismet, co-creators of the unique live art event Laugh and Draw, were recently featured on Minnesota Public Radio (MPR).

Laugh and Draw invites audiences to sketch live comedians as they perform on stage. Gaughan kicks off each event with a brief figure drawing lesson, after which Kismet takes over as emcee, guiding the experience as attendees draw the comedians in motion. The result is a lively, participatory blend of comedy and visual art.

The event first launched at the Minneapolis College of Art and Design before expanding to the public through the North Suburban Arts Center. It now runs regularly at the Q.Arma building in Northeast Minneapolis.
