Teen Maker Series for ages 12-18: Printmaking (In Person) | Minneapolis College of Art and Design

Teen Maker Series for ages 12-18: Printmaking (In Person)

Explore a variety of printmaking techniques, including letterpress, woodtype, stenciling, and more - all while using professional tools like Vandercook and Showcard proofing presses in MCAD's printshop.

Course description

The Teen Maker Series offers single session, 3-hour Friday evening workshops for teens ages 12–18, held on the third Friday of each month.

Each session introduces a new art-making skill, giving students the chance to learn foundational techniques while experimenting, collaborating, and connecting with other young artists. Guided by professional instructors and using high-quality art materials, these short-format workshops provide a fun, low-barrier way to explore creativity, build confidence, and try something new.

In this session of the series, experiment with inking, layering, and printing, and discover how different materials and methods can create unique textures and effects. Learn basic printmaking processes, experience professional printmaking presses, and walk away with an understanding of how to translate ideas into printed designs and a finished artwork to take home.

Open to students ages 12-18. Please review our complete Youth and Teen Policies as well as our General Policies prior to completing your registration.
