Create soft, squishy, cute plushies, needle felt a furry critter, and sew up your own functional bag or pouch. Learn the basics of sewing, designing your own patterns, and creating soft sculptures and functional objects. Open to ages 12-15. Course DescriptionThe focus of this class is stitching and sewing construction. This class builds on student sewing ability and experience as well as their creative design and motivation to create work. Students practice basic and intermediate hand sewing techniques to work in three dimensions. The goal is to design and construct plushies, learn to use needle felting to construct an object, and use hand sewing knowledge to stitch up a functional object. Expect to finish the course with a menagerie of cute and unique creatures, armed with the skills to keep crafting on your own. No sewing skills required, all experiences welcome. / Materials fee of $29 is included in course tuition.Open to students ages 12-15.
