Puppet Lab for Ages 9-12 (In Person) | Minneapolis College of Art and Design

Puppet Lab for Ages 9-12 (In Person)

Step into the magical and hands-on world of puppetry and puppet making! Open to ages 9 to 12.

Course description

Design and create your very own puppets - from finger puppets and shadow puppets to hand and rod puppets - using a variety of materials and creative techniques. Along the way, explore the fascinating history of puppetry, discovering classic traditions from around the world and seeing how puppets continue to inspire modern performers and storytellers today. Through storytelling, crafting, and performance, bring characters to life with movement, voice, and imagination. The course culminates in a short group puppet show on Friday afternoon, where everyone’s creations take center stage.

Open to students ages 9 to 12. Students must meet the age requirement by August 1, 2026. Please review our complete Summer Youth Camp Policies as well as our General Policies before completing your registration.

Information about weekly extended care options for ages 6-12 through Children's Theatre Company are included in the Summer Youth Camp Policies page.
