Learn the basics of various painting techniques and mediums while experimenting with different forms of self expression. Open to ages 9 to 12. Course descriptionExplore how to render emotions, identity, and surroundings through the use of color and a variety of painting mediums. Learn techniques with tempera, watercolor, and acrylic, while experimenting with different materials and styles. Draw inspiration from artists like Avis Charley and Ellsworth Ausby. Take a trip to the Minneapolis Institute of Art to see how artists represent their world, community, and identity through paint. The course concludes with an exhibition of fabulous paintings for friends and families to admire.Open to students ages 9 to 12. Students must meet the age requirement by August 1, 2026.
