Dream Big: Design Thinking and Innovation (Product Design) (in person)

Put your thinking cap on and become a problem solver in a class that encourages students to explore and innovate in a safe, inviting space. Learn and apply the Design Thinking process to design, develop and effectively prototype a product to solve a real world problem. Ages 9–12

Students research and brainstorm to come up with a challenge or “bug” in their everyday world. Experiential and hands-on learning activities empower students to become innovative thinkers and problem solvers. Students brainstorm applicable challenges, conduct research, create prototypes and explore two-dimensional and three-dimensional design solutions. With their new knowledge, students gain the ability to plan, build and test with guidance. On the last day, students pitch their newly created product to family and friends and receive feedback from the group.

Open to students ages 9-12. MCAD strictly adheres to these age guidelines and is unable to allow exceptions. Please review our complete Summer Youth Camps Policies as well as our General Policies before completing your registration. Information about extended care options through Children's Theatre Company are included in the Summer Youth Camps Policies page.
