MCAD nurtures the visual arts community statewide by being the administrative home for two prestigious fellowship programs. Each of the fellowship programs provides significant financial and professional support to artists who live in Minnesota.

MCAD–Jerome Foundation Fellowship for Emerging Artists

Established in 1981 and funded by the Jerome Foundation, this competitive fellowship provides $10,000 annually to four Minnesota artists who have not yet attained professional acknowledgement commensurate with the quality of their work.

McKnight Fellowship for Visual Artists

This highly-esteemed fellowship program has been administered by MCAD and generously funded by the McKnight Foundation since 1982. Six mid-career visual artists are awarded $25,000 annually to pursue their own artistic work over a two-year period.
