When you visit or interact with the Minneapolis College of Art and Design’s website (MCAD), (http://www.mcad.edu ) we may collect some information about you and your site visit. We make considerable efforts to ensure that any information collected by MCAD related to your online visit will be handled appropriately. This disclosure statement is designed to outline and provide an understanding of how we collect, use, share, and dispose of information you provide to us and information that is gathered during your online interactions with the . The information that we collect is used to manage legitimate business operations, improve our services, and to administer our curriculum and educational offerings. MCAD collects information you provide when, through our website, you apply for admission, register for campus visits and events, make charitable contributions, or otherwise interact with MCAD’s sites and services. Some of the information submitted by you or collected during your relationship with the College may be Personal Information.

Personal Information, as defined below, is generally information you provide us that can be used to identify, locate, or contact you. Most Personal Information we collect, and all sensitive personal information we collect, is provided to us when you provide the information on our sites, (Admissions Applications, or Continuing Education forms, for example) allowing the information to automatically populate online forms, uploading the information to our sites, or electronically granting your consent for us to obtain the information from third parties.

Automatically Collected Information

  • Accept and process gifts, donations and grants to MCAD ;

Once you provide us with your Personal Information, we may be able to link back to your identity when you click on customized links in emails that we send you or type in a customized web address in connection with promoted events, activities and programs as well as for other marketing and engagement purposes. This helps us to assess the effectiveness of our communications, marketing and engagement efforts.

How We Share and Process Information We Collect

To Offer and Perform Our Services, Curriculum, Programs, and Other Opportunities. Information collected will be shared and processed only for the specific purposes for which it was collected and for the purposes listed above. Personal Information may be shared with and processed by third parties we engage to provide services to us or on our behalf.

Third-Party Vendors. MCAD may share information collected through its site with third-party vendors who provide services to MCAD . For example, we may use third-party vendors to design and operate the site, conduct surveys and statistical analyses, and/or to help us with our fundraising and promotional efforts. These third-party vendors may need information about you to perform their services. In addition, as described below, we may allow them to use data to improve their services and for their own purposes.

With Professional Advisers, Government Authorities, and Regulatory Agencies. We may share information with professional advisers such as accountants, bankers, financial advisors, auditors, insurers, and lawyers who provide professional services to us. We may also share your information with government authorities (for example, in relation to tax) or other regulatory agencies as may be required by applicable law.

We do not and will not sell your Personal Information to third parties for their use to directly market their services to you.

These safeguards include, for example, the encryption of data during collection.
