Student Spotlight: Lucia Inkley- Pacheco

Graduate Sustainability Practicum

Each semester students have an opportunity to do a practicum which is akin to an internship. Practicums are academic learning experiences where students work under the mentorship of an experienced professional, a supervisor, either embedded in a company or organization, or with a MASD instructor when doing independent research. Whether working on site, remotely, or doing an independent research project, students apply their skills to real-world projects while learning about the industry/topic, enhancing their skills, networking, and building their portfolios.

As part of her MASD coursework, Lucia chose to complete a practicum. At the time, she was employed at Bollé Brand and was particularly interested in pursuing B-Corp certification for the company.

After maintaining the required assessment score for several months, Bollé Brands achieved B-Corp certification in late August, 2024.
