Lin Lacy ’71

Textile Center is celebrating the work of Lin Lacy ’71 with TexT, a compelling solo exhibition. Lacy’s work explores the deep connection between language and fiber, revealing how narrative shapes both art and life.

In TexT, Lacy presents a series of sculptural and illustrative pieces that blend text created with her non-dominant hand and meticulously crafted objects formed through collage, folding, stitching, and beadwork. The exhibition highlights her fluid movement between written word and textile structure, offering viewers glimpses of stories that are at times hidden and at times boldly revealed.

Lacy describes words as powerful visual and audible forms that mark “beginnings and endings, over and over again.” Her practice honors these cycles, transforming personal and universal narratives into intricate works of art.
