Russell Hamilton Gives Artist Talk on An Empirical Voice

MCAD Professor Russell Hamilton recently gave an artist talk about his newest solo show, An Empirical Voice, at Hopkins Center for the Arts. The series touches on his travel experiences, his culture, and his ideas as an American.

Drawing from his experiences as a resident traveler, his multimedia work explores the dichotomy of being a resident traveler and feeling othered for it, while at times feeling othered within the United States. Throughout his work, Hamilton seeks to draw questions from the viewer, as opposed to outright answering any, allowing his work to be mulled over and pondered. The entire artist talk is linked below.
