Faculty member Diana Eicher is pleased to announce her residency exhibition, Recycling and Repurposing the Flowers of Lakewood. This memorable project transforms funeral flowers, symbols of love, loss, and legacy, into delicate handmade paper. This body of work commemorates the lives of the loved ones being honored at Lakewood.

Over the course of her Artist in Residence program, Eicher worked alongside Lakewood’s grounds team to collect flowers that were left on gravesites across the grounds, and had begun to wilt and dry, to create one-of-a-kind paper, giving these meaningful flowers renewed use and new beauty. In addition to creating the paper itself, Eicher also created prints inspired by Lakewood and its connection to nature.
