St. Bonaventure University hosted an exhibition titled Plein-air Beauty: Léone Worden in honor of artist and community figure Léone Elizabeth Worden. She began creating art in the Twin Cities, where she studied at the Convent of the Visitation School, and then at the Minneapolis School of Art (now MCAD).

She moved to Olean in 1934 and enrolled at St. Bonaventure University, where she became a beloved member of the community and a volunteer at many civic and religious organizations. Throughought her artistic career, she made a range of vivid landscapes and intimate llife still studies, which were on display at the exhibit June 6–8.
