Peng Wu ’13, MFA is currently exhibiting Rest is Resist at the Memorial Union Gallery at North Dakota State University.

Wu is a social practice artist and designer whose work combines ancient and emerging technologies to create large-scale public art installations, participatory performances, and ritual-based experiences.

The exhibition examines contemporary forms of colonialism, oppressive nation-state policies, and the concept of rest as a form of resistance. Wu’s practice is deeply informed by experiences in the queer diaspora, identification as a “resident alien,” and living with chronic sleep disorders. Through embodied learning and storytelling, the work creates space for healing, resilience, and collective reflection among communities with complex shared histories.
