MacKenzie “MAC” Mitzuk ’23, MFA is set to unveil Nostalgic Escapism, a vibrant and imaginative solo exhibition exploring themes of memory, play, and resistance to digital saturation at the Rochester Art Center. Selected through a competitive juried process, Mitzuk’s exhibition is part of an annual partnership with the MFA Program at the Minneapolis College of Art and Design.

The show features paintings and sculptures that reflect the artist’s unique upbringing in a household steeped in retro aesthetics, a stark contrast to the increasingly digital world around her. Known for her whimsical visual language, Mitzuk channels her childhood surrounded by analog relics—VHS tapes, CRT monitors, and vintage television shows—into colorful, dreamlike artworks.
