Kelley Meister, "ADAPT: a zine about how to keep making art"
Kelley Meister ’08, MFA

Kelley Meister ’08, MFA just released a new zine that dives deep into what it means to keep making art through tough times.

ADAPT: A Zine About How To Keep Making Art is full of essays, interviews, and artwork from folks navigating chronic illness, caregiving, burnout, and more. It’s both beautiful and real, offering a glimpse into the many ways creative people keep showing up for their practice even when life makes it hard.

Meister shares hir own story of living with Long Covid and how hir creative process has shifted—sometimes slowing down, sometimes changing shape entirely, but never stopping. “I have learned to see my creativity as it ripples throughout my whole day,” ze writes.

On top of that, Meister is also offering a free art print to anyone who donates to the Science Museum of Minnesota union’s fundraiser, supporting twenty-nine union workers (including Meister) who were recently laid off due to major budget cuts.
