Melodee Strong's Murals Leave Behind Her Legacy

Melodee Strong ’06, mural artist, illustrator, and educator, recently passed following her battle with cancer. Strong's works included over 60 murals and public art projects throughout Minnesota including George Floyd Square and Midtown Greenway, surrounding social justice themes and diverse communities.

Elissa Cedarleaf Dahl ’07, MFA who met Melodee while co-teaching at MCAD wrote about Strong’s character “No one understood what I do on a daily basis like she did. She brought color and beauty and representation to our streets and touched so many people's lives with her love and creativity."
