MCADian Creates Animated Titles for The Last Wintercount

Maxeem Konrardy ’05 recently completed animated titles for Indigenous film director Sheldon Wolfchild's new film The Last Wintercount. The documentary is being submitted to festivals and the complete film can be seen on YouTube.

The title of the film, "winter count", draws on the traditional of the Dakota method of recording history, where each year is marked by a single significant event. It follows the Mdewakanton Dakota story through the U.S.-Dakota war of 1862 and Governor Ramsey's conspiracy with General Sibley to deprive the Dakota of their Lake Pepin Reservation, as well as the current lawsuit seeking justice for the rightful descendants.
