MCAD Student Breaks Into Top 20 of National "Style Icon" Competition

Minneapolis College of Art and Design student Cupid Bauer is celebrating a major creative achievement after earning a place among the top 20 finalists in the 2025 Style Icon competition—an international showcase spotlighting emerging tastemakers in fashion, photography, and personal style.

Bauer, who submitted their work only a few weeks ago, said the news came as an unexpected but exciting surprise. MCAD media instructor Ben Moren, who encouraged Bauer throughout the submission process, has been helping spread the word as voting continues.

Style Icon welcomes fashion-forward creators aged 18 and over from across North America. Finalists compete for a $20,000 grand prize, a feature in Flaunt Magazine, and an exclusive invitation to a Versace Fashion Show during Milan Fashion Week. The competition also supports the Elton John AIDS Foundation, a global leader in the fight against HIV.
