July 21, 2025 Image Wacom has launched its annual Creativity Camp, a free online character design workshop series running from July 28 to August 18, 2025.Led by Lafe Smith, Director of the Master of Arts in Graphic and Web Design program at Minneapolis College of Art and Design, the camp offers participants a step-by-step guide to creating original characters for comics, games, illustrated stories, and more. Smith, a seasoned illustrator and educator, brings decades of experience in visual storytelling to the virtual classroom, offering live instruction, professional feedback, and insight into industry-standard techniques—all with nothing more than a pencil and paper required. The camp is open to artists of all skill levels and features four weekly Zoom sessions covering everything from gesture drawing and shape language to expressive posing and final model sheet creation. As an added incentive, Wacom will be giving away drawing tablets during each session, exclusively to live U.S. attendees. Registration is now open on Wacom’s official website, with session recordings and additional resources to be made available after each class.Learn MoreWelcome to Wacom Creativity Camp!(community.wacom.com) Explore more about Lafe Smith
