MCAD MFA Student Discussses St. Olaf New York Program

St. Olaf’s New York Art January Term program has helped inspire participants, and MCAD MFA student Fiko Insel. The program takes a group of St. Olaf art students, and gives them a glimpse into life as an artist in New York during the month of January.

In an interview with St. Olaf, Insel discussed the unpredictable nature of being a full time artist, but how he felt more empowered by the opportunities and experiences the program provided him. He said, “It’s not like becoming a doctor. There are no steps outlined for you to take.” But the next step for his art journey was pursuing his graduate degree through the MCAD MFA program.
