With more than 56% of the vote in the at-large Seat A race, Washington unseated incumbent council member Marcia White.In this role, Washington will serve as part of the city’s legislative body, which is responsible for adopting laws and policies, setting the budget, and providing oversight of municipal operations.During her campaign, Washington emphasized increasing council-community interaction and strengthening oversight between the council and city administration.
