MCAD Alum Wins At-Large Seat on Ogden City Council

Alicia Washington ’24, MA has been elected to an at-large seat on the Ogden City Council in Ogden, Utah. With more than 56% of the vote in the at-large Seat A race, Washington unseated incumbent council member Marcia White.

In this role, Washington will serve as part of the city’s legislative body, which is responsible for adopting laws and policies, setting the budget, and providing oversight of municipal operations.

During her campaign, Washington emphasized increasing council-community interaction and strengthening oversight between the council and city administration. She also flagged concerns around access and affordability at the newly reopened Marshall N. White Community Center.

Washington’s new term on the Ogden City Council begins in January 2026, following the official certification of the election results.
