May Ling Kopecky ’22, MFA

May Ling Kopecky ’22, MFA, Learning Center Coordinator, was recently featured in the January–February 2026 issue of Practical Neurology. One of her paintings appears on the cover of the issue, and her biography is included in the magazine’s About the Cover Artist page.

Kopecky creates paintings and drawings that visualize her experience living with pediatric-onset multiple sclerosis. Her work responds to the skepticism often surrounding chronic illness and invisible disabilities, translating personal medical experience into vivid visual form.

The feature highlights how her artistic practice brings visibility to the lived realities of chronic illness while challenging misconceptions about disability.
