Mary Welke Wraps up Poland Residency with Roots

Mary Welke ’77

Mary Welke ’77 recently returned from her three week residency at Sala 752 in Zaczernie, Poland. During her time she created a community engaged art instillation project made up of prairie roots. Residents of the village were encouraged to participate by binding fragments of their personal history into the installation. A small section of the piece is now in the permanent residency of the Regional Ethnographic Museum in Zaczernie.
