Two incoming students at Minneapolis College of Art and Design, Sid Forest and Ryan Felhofer, have earned significant recognition for their artistic achievements, each receiving partial scholarships totaling more than $100,000.

The Sturgeon Bay High School seniors developed standout portfolios that reflect both technical skill and distinct creative voices. While Forest’s work leans toward conceptual fine art and explorations of social issues, Felhofer’s practice blends traditional drawing with digital techniques, often incorporating elements of motion and layered composition.

Despite their different approaches, the two artists have built a strong collaborative dynamic, encouraging each other’s growth while refining their individual styles.

As they prepare to join MCAD’s creative community, Forest and Felhofer bring a shared interest in both artistic practice and the professional possibilities within the field. Their ambitions range from art therapy and nonprofit work to design and digital media, reflecting a broad view of how art can shape careers and communities.
