At 91, professor emeritus Hazel Belvo continues to demonstrate that a life in art has no endpoint, as her work takes center stage in a new solo exhibition titled Resurrection: A Feminist Perspective.

The exhibition showcases a series of large-scale paintings that explore themes of endurance, renewal, and the strength of the feminine spirit.

Her work, held in major collections including the Minneapolis Institute of Art and the Weisman Art Museum, remains deeply rooted in expressive color and figurative storytelling. In Resurrection, each painting also serves as a metaphor for environmental and human cycles of struggle and hope.
