Grace Easton Unveils “The House with the Little Red Door”

Grace Easton ’18 recently released her newest picture book, The House with the Little Red Door, a warmly told, richly illustrated story about friendship, loss, and the true meaning of home.

The story follows Olivia, who lives in a cozy house with a little red door, and her neighbor Mouse, who resides in an oak tree behind it. When a storm brings Mouse’s home crashing down, Olivia sets out to help her friend find a new place to live.

Easton, now a London-based author and illustrator and senior illustrator at the luxury brand Smythson of Bond Street, infuses the book with delicate painted scenes, atmospheric outdoor landscapes, and playful die-cut flaps that invite young readers to explore hidden details. Early reviews praise the book’s emotional depth and artistic charm.
