Frank Kuettel, who attended the Minneapolis School of Art (now Minneapolis College of Art and Design) in the 1950's, was recently interviewed by White Bear Press about his prolific design career, and his return to watercolor painting. His return to painting follows his retirement from a very successful commercial art career, where he drafted logos for notable clients like Scotchgard, at major commercial companies including 3M and Campbell-Mithun Advertising.

Though it wasn’t a medium he used in his career or education, watercolor has become his everyday art form. The paintings serve as gifts, prizes for his local BINGO, and daily meditation. As Kuettel explained “If you can make something that makes people happy, that’s what it’s all about.”
