June 29, 2026 Image Fragments Reimagined, on display in MCAD’s main gallery and curated by Keisha Williams and Nikki McComb, serves as a call to action against gun violence. The work featured is created by local artists and activists, inspired by the tragic losses experienced by the Minneapolis community.Nikki McComb, a co-founder of Minneapolis nonprofit, Art Is My Weapon, notes that this is her 13th year exhibiting her pieces, which are made out of decommissioned gun parts. “Art can change the trajectory of someone’s thought processes and has changed the trajectory processes primarily with some of the youth we work with,” McComb notes.Fragments ReimaginedMCAD Main Gallery (Minneapolis, MN)May 30–August 8, 2026Learn moreThe 11 best things to do and see in the Twin Cities this week(startribune.com—June 2, 2026)Using art as a wake-up call about ending gun violence(kstp.com—May 30, 2026)Art is my Weapon(www.artismyweapon.org)
