A sweeping new exhibition at the Plains Art Museum is casting long-overdue attention on women artists, drawing together four-hundred years of work ranging from 17th-century Italian Baroque etchings to contemporary pieces from the Upper Midwest.

Women Artists: Four Centuries of Creativity features recent acquisitions from former MCAD faculty members Hazel Belvo and the late Judith Roode. The exhibition also features works by regional artists including Dyani White Hawk, Julie Buffalohead, and Laura Youngbird, alongside art-historical icons such as Helen Frankenthaler and Berthe Morisot.
