Fall of Freedom with Tom and Malayka Gormally

Malayka and Tom Gormally ’77 contributed work to the Fall of Freedom show at the TK Building in Pioneer Square. The exhibit was a part of a nationwide Fall of Freedom Creative Resistance movement, in protest of the United States government's growing authoritarianism.

Tom Gormally’s sculpture work tackles this head on in Truth TV, a work depicting a fox coyly shushing the viewer as he spreads misinformation and lies under the guise of news and truth. Malayka Gromally’s work highlights the perspective of those affected, in her work, We Are All Immigrants. The painting is from her experience marching in protest of the government's increasing hostility towards immigrants, which still influences many of her works today.
