Sarah Evenson ’16 has been welcomed into The Grand as the 4th Artist-in-Resident.

Evenson (they/them/theirs) is a queer, transgender interdisciplinary printmaker/zinemaker/bookmaker/writer based in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Since earning their BFA in printmaking from the Minneapolis College of Art and Design in 2016, Evenson has led an eclectic and varied career. In the last five years, Evenson has received many grants and opportunities to further their career and study of bookmaking

During Evanson’s time as a resident at The Grand’s Cellar Press, they propose to create and distribute an edition of 100 letterpress printed single-sheet cut-and-fold zines on the subject of queer empowerment and community. Upon completion of Sarah’s formal two-week residency, they will distribute the zines as takeaways at willing bookstores, art spaces, and community centers around Brown County and the surrounding areas.
