Emily Johnson '02 was recently featured on the home page of Star Tribune website as part of an article highlighting Amazon’s AI program posting photos and products from small businesses for their own website listings. The AI features the products of smaller businesses on Amazon, and acts as a middle man for the purchase, ordering the products from the original seller and shipping them to the customer through Amazon.The program brings up a major concern for small businesses, which is that they never chose to opt in. Johnson herself explains how she has deliberately avoided selling her jewelry through Amazon. “The biggest thing is that I don’t want to be associated with Amazon.
