Diana Eicher Enters Lakewood Cemetery Residency

MCAD Director of printmaking Diana Eicher has been selected as one of four artists for the Lakewood Artists Residency, which emphasizes healing through grief. A celebration of the inaugural residency will be on May 15, involving a Q&A at the chapel and the reception at the Welcome Center.

Diana’s work is inspired by the ephemeralness of flowers and how she wished to repurpose them after they wilted. She found that through papermaking she could, and that the paper she made could be a work of its own, or drawn on top of, adding even more layers of meaning to her work. Her final exhibit, Recycling and Repurposing the Flowers of Lakewood, will include printed and drawn works on her handmade paper, as well as two workshops teaching others her process.
