With comedic playfulness, Biewald intertwines fact and fiction, blurring the boundaries between the possible and the impossible. She creates tinged bucolic worlds of mystery, imagination, and eerie beauty. Black Tongue explores the histories of hard-to-get collectibles, kitsch, our current world, and the adulterated worlds where these precious things have traveled.
