This show came after nearly three decades of financial and emotional struggle, being unable to paint full-time until his retirement. When he was finally able to start creating again, the doubt most artists feel began to seep in, and he swore off painting. "I did three or four paintings and I couldn't get them resolved, so I just kind of gave up, thought well I'm too old," Grandbois explained in an interview with CBS News. However, when his grand niece Hadley Dobish was deciding to do an art exhibit for her high school senior project, she knew his art was the perfect fit. Between Doubt and Desire served as a celebration of his passion and determination, offering him the recognition her deserves.Between Doubt and Desire755 Prior Ave N (St.Paul, MN)May 19, 2025Learn moreArtist proves it’s never too late to make one’s mark(minnpost.com—May 13, 2025)Don Grandbois proves age is just a number and passion lasts a lifetime(cbsnews.com—May 15, 2025) Explore more about Don Grandbois
