Teaching PhilosophyMy approach to mentorship and education is to foster a space for curiosity, growth, empowerment, and self discovery through art. It is my goal to assist you in harnessing and exploring your natural creative energy, while discovering your own creative process or methodology. I see risk taking, making mistakes and learning from them as an important part of growth and learning. I draw from my experiences as an educator at the university level and community art spaces, and as a professional artist to assist students as appropriate, while also pulling from texts, local resources such as museums, galleries and community events, among others. I want to understand your immediate concerns and goals, as well as your long term ones. You can expect honest, constructive, and supportive interactions and feedback to bring out your best during your MCAD experience. Each meeting is an opportunity for mutual growth.
