Luke Erickson specializes in modern and contemporary art and American art, with an emphasis on the history of photography and film. He has published articles on varied topics, from the Pre-Raphaelite Brotherhood to contemporary Latinx photography.

Erickson is a working artist with photographs in museums including the Weisman Art Museum, Tweed Museum of Art, University of Southern California’s Fisher Art Museum, Laguna Art Museum, the Autry Museum, University of Redlands’ Peppers Art Gallery, Minnesota Historical Society, and the Cornell Museum of Fine Arts. He is also a recipient of a 2016 Minnesota State Arts Board Artist Initiative Grant.
