Kate Samworth is an artist and award-winning illustrator whose work is inspired by nature, folklore, and the art of the Scientific Revolution of the 16th century. She has been exhibiting across the country and abroad since 1992 and has illustrated several books, including the NYT bestseller, Why Fish Don't Exist, and the Kirkus Prize winner, Aviary Wonders Inc.

Samworth studied and then taught painting at the New Orleans Academy of Fine Art and teaches observational drawing and illustration for a handful of certificate programs. She is represented by Le Mieux Gallery in New Orleans.
