Avigail Manneberg is a Minneapolis-based artist and member of the Rosalux Gallery. She works in varied media, including painting, drawing, video, and performance. She asks questions about relationships of identity and place. In her most recent work, Avigail examines the tension between places of grief and joy in a series of paintings using performance. Avigail’s previous work responds to the chaos experienced by those fleeing violent conflict. Avigail earned a Bachelor in Design from the Bezalel Academy of Art and Design in Jerusalem and an MFA from the University of Minnesota.

Since 2009, Avigail has lived in Berlin on and off. Her work during those sojourns was supported by fellowships from DAAD, the German Academic Exchange Service. During her time in Germany, Avigail studied at the University of the Arts. Avigail exhibits her work at galleries, universities, and museums in the US and internationally, including in Finland, Berlin, Cyprus, Beijing, and Israel. Avigail has received multiple Minnesota State Arts Board grants and a University of Minnesota Human Rights Initiative Grant for her project, A Contested Home: Memory, Commemoration, and Rights around Forced Migration of Palestinians in the Galilee.
