Image Faculty Alumni ’17 Title Adjunct Faculty Education MFA, Minneapolis College of Art and Design BA, University of Central Arkansas Current Career Artist, Designer, and Independent Curator Location Minneapolis, Minnesota Suyao Tian is an artist, designer, and gallerist of Viewpoint Gallery residing in the twin cities. She also serves as adjunct faculty at Minneapolis College of Art and Design. She currently serves on the Executive Board of Art Buddies and the Northeast Minneapolis Arts Association (NEMAA) and is passionately engaged with multiple galleries and organizations across the state. She started with her BA in Fine Art at the University of Central Arkansas. Afterward, she completed her MFA in Design and Branding Identity from the Minneapolis College of Art and Design in 2017 with honors. She developed and established the fashion brand Modern Cover™ where she designs and sells products across the US. Her paintings have been featured in numerous group and solo exhibitions, along with curating multiple group shows cross country. Her works have been collected by institutions and personal collectors. Her work has caught the eye of national and international companies, with her painting applied and sold across a range of product types, like Room & Board, BOND Dubai, Grand Image and Merlette NYC, and more. In 2022 she opened Viewpoint Gallery to celebrate art and artists, generate new ideas for the community, and to provide opportunities for greater engagement of people within the community.
