Please join us on Tuesday, September 16 for a visiting artist lecture with Ben Blount at 1:00 p.m. in Auditorium 150 or virtually.

Ben Blount is a Detroit-born artist, designer and letterpress printer best known for work that explores questions of race and identity and the stories we tell ourselves about living in America. He earned an MFA in Interdisciplinary Book and Paper Arts from Columbia College Chicago and lives and works in Evanston, IL. Ben is a believer in the power of the printed word and shares his passion for print and design by lecturing and teaching around the country including at The Cleveland Institute of Art, Penland School of Craft, and Hamilton Wood Type and Printing Museum. He is an active member of his local art scene and founding board member of Artists Book House in Chicago. His work is in numerous collections including The Newberry Library, Chicago Field Museum, The Metropolitan Museum of Art, and the Smithsonian National Museum of African American History and Culture.
