Laptop Scholarship | Minneapolis College of Art and Design

Laptop Scholarship

There are perks to applying early.

If you submit your undergraduate application and all supporting materials, including the FAFSA, by MCAD's Early Action Deadline, you are eligible for the Laptop Scholarship. This scholarship provides admitted undergraduate students with a free MacBook computer when they enroll at the college. The MCAD-configured Apple laptop computer is required for all new undergraduate students.

The undergraduate early action deadline is non-binding and allows you to apply and receive an admission decision well in advance of the regular decision deadline. You are not restricted from applying to other institutions and have until the posted tuition deposit deadline to consider your options and confirm enrollment.

Policies and Requirements

  • Students must have all admissions materials, including the FAFSA, submitted prior to the posted deadline at 5:00 p.m. CST. This means that documents must be in the admissions office by this date, not in transition. Official transcripts are required.
  • Only students who have submitted all materials and been admitted to MCAD in the BFA and BS programs will be eligible for this scholarship.
  • This scholarship covers the full cost of an MCAD-configured laptop computer. This scholarship cannot be used for any other purposes or to purchase a laptop outside of MCAD, or applied to any other costs while attending MCAD.
  • This scholarship cannot be deferred or applied to another start date, college, or program.
  • Laptops are distributed only during orientation and cannot be acquired before this date.
  • Students must complete required enrollment authorization (REA) and have all tuition balances paid in full by the posted deadlines before receiving the laptop.
  • Students are required to attend classes and remain enrolled during the posted add/drop period. Students withdrawing during this time must return the laptop to MCAD, or be liable for the full cost of the machine.
