Printmaking Workshop: Low-tech Screenprinting (In Person)

Discover the accessible and low-tech process of screenprinting with hand-cut paper stencils.

Course description

Learn how to implement this process in any setting with access to basic screenprinting supplies. In this workshop, learn fundamental screenprinting techniques, including creating a stencil, color mixing, and printing, to create a one-layer print on paper. / Materials fee of $26 and facilities fee of $26 is included in course tuition. Open to students ages 18 and above. Review complete policies, including class cancellation policies, before completing your registration.

Class meeting details

This class meets in person on MCAD’s campus. This class has limited access to the Printshop. Students do not have access to the Printshop outside of class hours. Please review the Printshop guidelines in advance.

Prerequisites

Previous drawing experience helpful, but not required.

  • pen or pencil
  • notebook or sketchbook

The materials fee and facility fee for this class will cover the required supplies.

What to wear
Clothes appropriate for messy creativity. An apron may be useful. Closed-toe shoes are required. Long hair should be tied back.
